Job description

VIP Staffing is immediately hiring a Procurement/Purchasing candidate for a leading organization in Albuquerque.
This is a Full Time Temp to hire position that is Monday-Friday 7am-3:30pm.
Pay for this position is $20 per hour.

As a Purchaser you will: 
  • Review project drawings, bills of material (BOMs), and specifications to determine material requirements. 
  • Source and purchase steel, plate, structural shapes, fasteners, consumables, and other required fabrication materials. 
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor quotations to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery terms with suppliers. 
  • Create, issue, and track purchase orders in company's Information management system
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, reports, and supplier performance data. 
  • Check Stock before ordering material to avoid shortages or extra material
  • Resolve delivery, quality, or invoice discrepancies with suppliers. 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors to ensure reliability and favorable terms. 
  • Support estimating and project management teams by providing bid pricing, material cost, and lead time for information. 

Purchasing candidates must meet the below qualifications for consideration: 
  • 1 year experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (steel fabrication industry preferred). 
  • Strong knowledge of steel grades, fasteners, and fabrication materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and BOM's.
  • Proficiency with STRUMIS (information management system for steel fabrication). 
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
