Position Summary
The Associate Project Accountant is assigned to a smaller construction project(s) and partners with the Project Management team to assure timely and accurate accounting and risk management throughout the project life cycle.
Position Details
  • Ensures accurate reporting of financial information and timely invoicing pertaining to a particular project. Maintains project-related ledger accounts.
  • Disseminates month-end project reports to management and relevant business lines.
  • Maintains list of month-end deadlines and ensure that profit and cash flow forecasts are prepared on time and accurately.
  • Reviews project forecasts on a regular basis and ensure any outstanding matters are dealt with on a timely basis.
  • Maintains project register. Prepares month-end posting/ allocations and accruals. Controls the accounts payable and receivable tasks for the project.
  • Identifies and assists with the resolution of basic project-related accounting issues.
  • Ensures policies and procedures for project accounting are adhered to.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance preferred
  • 1-3 years' of project accounting experience preferred
  • Basic accounting knowledge
  • Good organization skills with high level of attention to detail
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task
  • Able to analyze and resolve basic issues
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with intermediate level ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc. required
