Position Overview
We are seeking a highly capable Contract Accountant to support our team on an as-needed basis with accounting, tax, and entity management projects. This is not a full-time position. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, works efficiently with minimal supervision, and can independently manage multiple projects while delivering high-quality results. This role will be heavily involved in coordinating with outside tax advisors and helping complete the work necessary to wind down and close legacy entities, along with other accounting and finance projects as they arise.
Key Responsibilities
  • Work directly with management on special accounting and finance projects.
  • Coordinate with external tax firms, CPAs, and advisors.
  • Assist with the cleanup, dissolution, and closure of legacy legal entities.
  • Gather and organize financial records and supporting documentation.
  • Reconcile accounts and research historical transactions.
  • Prepare schedules, workpapers, and analyses for tax and accounting purposes.
  • Support financial reporting, budgeting, and ad hoc analysis.
  • Identify issues, recommend solutions, and drive projects to completion.

Position Requirements
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience.
  • Tax experience strongly preferred, particularly working with partnerships, LLCs, and closely held businesses.
  • Advanced Excel skills required, including:
    • Pivot tables
    • XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP
    • Complex formulas
    • Data analysis and reconciliation
    • Large dataset management
  • Experience working with external CPA and tax firms.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities without constant oversight.
  • Wolfepak/Pakenergy Experience preferred
