Job description

We are seeking a hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations and drive safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role is responsible for supervising production personnel, coordinating workflow, monitoring performance metrics, and ensuring products are manufactured efficiently and in compliance with company and customer requirements.


The ideal candidate is a strong floor leader who can motivate teams, solve problems in real time, implement Lean Manufacturing principles, and foster a culture of accountability, safety, and operational excellence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop production employees to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and productivity goals.
  • Supervise daily manufacturing operations and ensure production schedules are met.
  • Monitor workflow, staffing levels, and labor utilization to maximize efficiency.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) including productivity, scrap, downtime, quality, and on-time delivery.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement Lean Manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, waste reduction, standard work, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Ensure compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct employee training, performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing, and Maintenance teams to resolve production issues and improve operational performance.
  • Support inventory accuracy and material flow to minimize production disruptions.
  • Investigate quality concerns and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Maintain production records, reports, and documentation.
  • Promote a positive, team-oriented culture focused on accountability, communication, and operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, or Lead/Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and employee development skills.
  • Experience with production scheduling, labor planning, and manufacturing operations.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles including 5S, Kaizen, waste reduction, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Experience tracking and analyzing production KPIs.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing best practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in electronics, cable assembly, connector manufacturing, or industrial manufacturing environments.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems.
  • Experience with ATEX/IECEx requirements or hazardous location manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to audit preparation, corrective actions, and quality improvement programs.
