Our solutions help ensure mission success on land, air, sea, space and cyberspace for the Department of Defense, intelligence community, NASA, and other federal agencies. KBR's areas of expertise include engineering, logistics, operations, science, program management, mission IT and cybersecurity.

Job Summary

KBR is seeking a highly motivated Subcontracts Closeout Admin who will be responsible for coordinating and executing administrative, contractual, financial, and regulatory activities required to successfully close subcontracts in accordance with company policies, customer requirements, and applicable Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) requirements. This role works closely with Subcontract Administrators, Contracts, Finance, Property Management, Program Management, Compliance, and subcontractors to ensure all subcontract obligations have been fulfilled and documented prior to final closeout.

The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage a high volume of subcontract closeout actions while maintaining compliance with government contracting requirements.

**This is a temporary position, with the initial support window expected to run through the end of the year.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage and process assigned subcontract closeout actions from initiation through final closure in accordance with applicable FAR, DFARS, customer-specific requirements, and company policies.

  • Review subcontract files to verify compliance and completion of all contractual deliverables, administrative requirements, and financial obligations to include:

    • Final invoice submission and payment verification

    • Release of claims documentation

    • Patent and royalty reporting requirements

    • Intellectual property and data rights obligations

    • Property accountability and disposition requirements

    • Security and export compliance obligations

    • Small business subcontracting requirements, when applicable

  • Identify and resolve outstanding issues preventing subcontract closure.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders and subcontractors to obtain required closeout documentation.

  • Ensure subcontract files contain all documentation necessary to demonstrate regulatory compliance and audit readiness.

  • Coordinate with Finance and Accounts Payable to verify:

    • Final invoicing

    • Final payment processing

    • Deobligation of excess funds

    • Resolution of unliquidated obligations

  • Review subcontract balances and identify discrepancies requiring corrective action.

  • Support reconciliation of subcontract financial records prior to closure.

  • Update subcontract status and closeout milestones within procurement and ERP systems.

  • Prepare management reports, metrics, dashboards, and closeout forecasts.

  • Track and report aging subcontracts and closeout backlog status.

  • Maintain accurate closeout data for audit and compliance purposes.

  • Communicate professionally with subcontractors regarding outstanding closeout actions and required documentation.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree preferred.

  • 1+ year of administrative, procurement, subcontracts, contracts, supply chain, or government contracting experience.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.

  • Experience working with document management systems and ERP platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting subcontract administration or subcontract closeout activities.

  • Experience in aerospace, defense, government contracting, engineering, or manufacturing environments.

  • Experience with SAP, Costpoint, Oracle, PeopleSoft, or equivalent ERP systems.
