Job description

Job Summary

Our government client is seeking an experienced Telecom Engineer to support and maintain enterprise telecommunications infrastructure serving over 7,000 users across multiple locations. This role involves supporting VoIP systems, telecommunications infrastructure, video conferencing, WAN circuits, and telecom operations in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities

  •  Provide telecom support including phone installations, repairs, moves, adds, and changes. 
  •  Support Centrex and VoIP phone systems, voicemail, and telecommunication services. 
  •  Troubleshoot telecom hardware, software, and connectivity issues. 
  •  Coordinate with telecom vendors and carriers to resolve service issues and perform upgrades. 
  •  Manage WAN circuits, Internet circuits, and PRI connections. 
  •  Administer Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) and telecom provisioning systems. 
  •  Support video conferencing infrastructure and troubleshoot endpoints. 
  •  Install, terminate, test, and maintain structured cabling infrastructure (MDF/IDF). 
  •  Maintain telecom inventory and documentation. 
  •  Create and manage Service Desk tickets and provide timely issue resolution. 
  •  Train end users on telecom equipment and communication systems. 
  •  Provide onsite support at multiple NYC locations, including secure detention facilities. 
Required Qualifications

  •  5+ years of hands-on experience as a Telecom Engineer or Telecom Support Engineer. 
  •  Experience supporting: 
    •  VoIP Phone Systems 
    •  Centrex Phone Systems 
    •  Cisco Hosted Collaboration Solution (HCS) 
    •  Interactive Voice Response (IVR) Systems 
    •  WAN, Internet, and PRI circuits 
    •  Video Conferencing (VTC) 
  •  Experience with: 
    •  Microsoft Windows 10 
    •  Microsoft Office 365 / Exchange Online 
    •  Microsoft Visio 
    •  Microsoft Project 
    •  Verizon Enterprise Direct, Verizon CMAC, and VMM 
  •  Experience with structured cabling, MDF/IDF design, installation, and maintenance. 
  •  Strong troubleshooting and customer support skills. 
  •  Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  •  Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
  •  Must be able to lift equipment up to 50 lbs
Additional Requirements

  •  Must be willing to travel to all ACS locations across the five boroughs of New York City
  •  Must be comfortable working onsite at Brooklyn and Bronx Secure Detention Centers
  •  This position requires 100% onsite attendance
