Job description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer to support the Army Logistics Research and Engineering Directorate. This individual will be responsible for creating, editing, and managing a variety of technical documents and publications. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical writing skills, a keen attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with subject matter experts to ensure clarity and accuracy in all materials.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation in XML.
  • Collaborate with technical subject matter experts to gather information and ensure content accuracy.
  • Edit and proofread documents for clarity, consistency, and adherence to publication standards.
  • Ensure all documentation meets company and industry standards.


Job Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Technical Writing, English, Communication, or a related field with five (5) years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent with ten (10) years of highly relevant specialized experience, including prolonged military instruction.
  • Demonstrated experience in technical writing functions, publication standards, and processes.
  • Preferred experience with XMetaL, Arbortext, FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, or equivalent software tool.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
