Position Summary

Nestle is seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Technical Trainer to deliver high-quality technical training that enables employees to perform their roles safely, efficiently, and effectively. This role combines hands-on maintenance expertise with strong training and coaching capabilities to support employee development and operational excellence.


Shift & Compensation

Shift: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm but will need to flex to support 2nd and 3rd shift as well, early mornings and offshifts will be required

Pay Rate: The approximate hourly pay for this position is $29-$40/hr + 2nd shift differential - $1.75hr, 3rd shift differential - $2.25/hr


Key Responsibilities Training & Development
  • Develop and deliver technical training programs (e.g., Upskilling, Apprenticeship, Maintenance Trainee).
  • Facilitate training through classroom instruction, hands-on learning, and virtual sessions.
  • Assess training needs and continuously improve program effectiveness.
  • Provide one-on-one coaching and support to employees.
  • Maintain accurate training records and track employee progress.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to ensure training content is current and effective.
  • Foster an engaging and positive learning environment.
Technical & Operational Support
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of maintenance principles and troubleshooting.
  • Train and coach operators to achieve proficiency in equipment operation.
  • Support knowledge transfer of basic maintenance skills to production teams.
  • Understand machine operations and drive standards that sustain line performance.
 Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement
  • Follow and promote all safety policies, including Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO).
  • Participate in shift handoffs, KPIs, and Manufacturing Excellence (ME) initiatives.
  • Complete Go See Think Do (GSTD) activities and support continuous improvement.
  • Perform safety and quality risk assessments.
  • Ensure cleanliness, documentation accuracy, and adherence to company standards.
 General Responsibilities
  • Maintain regular attendance and flexibility for overtime as needed.
  • Enter work order notifications and complete required documentation.
  • Participate in ongoing training and skill development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

 Supervisory & Leadership Expectations
  • Provide peer coaching and support team development.
  • Assist with break/lunch coordination and team communication.
  • Contribute feedback on employee performance (30/60/90-day reviews).
  • Promote a positive, team-oriented work environment.

 Qualifications Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in technical training or maintenance.
  • Previous experience as a technical trainer or in a similar role preferred.
 Skills & Competencies
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt training methods to various learning styles.
  • Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
 Technical Skills
  • Experience with learning systems (e.g., Poka, iLearn).
  • Familiarity with MES/Globe systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
 Certifications
  • Ability to obtain tow motor and scissor lift certification.

 Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing, and use of hands/tools.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Ability to work in varied physical positions (stooping, kneeling, crouching).

 Work Environment
  • Manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and temperature changes.
  • Work may occur indoors, outdoors, or in confined spaces.
  • Use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
