Job description

Technical/Professional - Engineering Aide | Grand Prairie, Texas, United States [About the Role]
Join our dynamic team in Grand Prairie, TX as an Engineering Aide, where your expertise in circuit card fabrication, soldering, and wire harness assembly will directly support cutting-edge engineering and manufacturing initiatives. As a hands-on contributor, you'll collaborate closely with engineers, fabricators, and quality inspectors, gaining exposure to advanced defense technology projects and opportunities for professional growth. This full-time position requires occasional overtime and provides a fast-paced, supportive team environment.
[Responsibilities]
  • Assemble and solder components on circuit cards and sub-assemblies to precise specifications
  • Fabricate wiring harnesses, including connector pinning, de-pinning, and proper application of mounting hardware
  • Integrate lower-level assemblies into single or multi-bay cabinet systems for delivery to production
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and engineering guides to ensure accurate builds
  • Communicate production or design issues clearly to engineers and management, both verbally and in writing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, draftsmen, and quality inspectors
  • Utilize software tools and Microsoft products for documentation and workflow tracking
  • Maintain compliance with all safety protocols and standards, including use of required safety shoes

[Required Skills and Experience]
  • Active Secret clearance at time of application
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on fabrication experience (circuit cards, cable/wire harness, SMT board, or military product maintenance)
  • Certification in soldering and harness assembly to MIL STD requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to build electrical equipment from engineering documentation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and issue resolution
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant fabrication software
  • Self-motivated with a proven track record of working independently

[Preferred Skills]
  • Solder certification to J-STD-001, IPC-7711, or IPC-7721 standards
  • Experience in procurement and test material acquisition
  • Familiarity with Lockheed Martin Test Equipment engineering requirements
