Job description

Title:

Senior Technical Professional - Project Engineering

KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) provides holistic and value-added solutions across the entire asset life cycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, energy transition solutions, high-end design capabilities, and smart solutions to optimize planned and operating assets.

KBR is seeking a Senior Technical Professional - Project Engineering to provide technical and operational leadership for projects and missions within established program guidelines. This role is responsible for overseeing project requirements, coordinating resources, managing project execution, and ensuring scope, schedule, and budget objectives are achieved. The ideal candidate will bring strong engineering expertise, independent problem-solving skills, and the ability to serve as a technical resource and mentor to less experienced team members.

Functional job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Provide technical and operational leadership for assigned projects and missions.
Define, develop, and review project requirements documentation.
Conduct technical studies and analyses to refine project requirements and execution plans.
Monitor and manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure successful delivery.
Coordinate activities between resource managers, supervisors, project teams, and stakeholders.
Ensure all required project reviews, approvals, and documentation are completed in accordance with company and customer requirements.
Perform project performance analyses and support lessons-learned initiatives during project closeout.
Serve as a primary customer contact for assigned areas of responsibility, as applicable.
Apply engineering expertise and industry best practices to solve complex technical and project challenges.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, products, and services.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical support to less experienced engineers and team members.
Ability to lead multiple projects and initiatives with manageable risks and resource requirements with a value up to $2M.
Build consensus and communicate complex or sensitive information effectively to internal and external stakeholders.


Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering.
Typically requires 4 to 7 years of relevant engineering and project experience.
Environmental, Health, and Safety project experience preferred.
In depth knowledge and experience within an engineering discipline.
Strong understanding of project management principles, including scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and develop innovative solutions using existing technologies and processes.
Knowledge of industry best practices and the integration of engineering functions across multiple disciplines.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support less-experienced team members.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and build consensus.
Knowledge of market drivers, competitive factors, and industry trends that impact project execution and customer requirements.
Ability to effectively manage customer relationships and coordinate across multiple teams and organizations.
Experience leading small to mid-sized engineering projects.
Experience serving as a customer-facing technical representative.
Demonstrate successful coordinating multidisciplinary teams and stakeholder groups.
Knowledge of Project Portfolio Management (EcoSys) software and project controls is a plus.
