Senior Technical Writer


**** This role will be reporting to our customers site, this site is located in north Greenville off State RT 264/MLK JR HWY ****


Position Summary:
Under limited direction, the SR Tech Writer leads tasks related to documenting and developing detailed operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures, checklists, technical specifications, service bulletins, training materials, and reports. This role supports customer requirements and expectations while operating in a fast-paced environment with set delivery schedules. This is a hybrid position requiring technical expertise and writing proficiency.


What Youll Do:
Write technical documentation/manuals in accordance with customer specifications
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on heavy-duty equipment
Research and reuse existing data, text, and illustrations
Draft and coordinate technical content for final products
Archive and organize technical data for future projects)
Track time spent on tasks and report status to management
Communicate project needs and progress clearly
Meet established deadlines while adhering to company policies
Follow and enforce safety protocols
Assist with onboarding and training of new or transitioning team members
Review project requirements for compliance with customer agreements
Perform other job-related tasks as needed, with reasonable accommodation


What You Bring:
High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a technical or mechanical field or equivalent work experience required
24 years of experience writing complex technical documents preferred
Strong troubleshooting experience on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) technical documentation preferred
Mechanical aptitude, especially in automotive or military equipment
Familiarity with diagnostic tools such as OBD II, CAT ET, Allison DOC, Bendix Diagnostic, Dearborn, WABCO Toolbox, or other OEM tools
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and able to interpret engineering drawings and data
Critical thinking and strong attention to detail
Willingness to work overtime as needed
