Education
University degree in Information Technology/Computer Science or equivalent discipline, with experience as a senior role in managing and administering Windows and Linux platforms
Professional certification from Microsoft or REDHAT is a plus.

What to Expect
As a Systems Engineer in the Windows and RHEL Services Squad, you will:
  • You will work with the Product Owner and Squad members to design, develop, test, configure, build and maintain Windows and Linux platforms in line with agreed requirements
  • You will work with your team to implement and operate your solutions
  • You will deploy infrastructure and software according to our change management processes
  • You will provide L2 operational support for Windows/Linux platforms and infrastructure components
  • You will collaborate with our internal and external customers following DevOps/Agile principles and best practices
  • You will follow-up and document our services (systems/applications/procedures) as they evolve
  • You will interact and collaborate with other internal teams to ensure excellent customer satisfaction
  • You will develop and maintain technical documentation and prepare and give presentations to customers on systems
  • You will handle issues always focusing on continuous improvement: you will automate, educate and share knowledge transparently

Technical Skills
  • Windows & Linux Expertise:
    • Strong Windows Server and Active Directory administration
    • Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration and OS deployment
    • Troubleshooting complex OS and performance issues
  • Storage & Infrastructure:
    • Understanding of enterprise storage protocols (NFS, SMB, iSCSI)
    • Filesystem management and tuning (NTFS, XFS, ext4)
    • Experience with backup, monitoring, and hardware lifecycle processes
  • Virtualization:
    • Experience with VMware vSphere and/or Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Networking:
    • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing, DNS, and load balancing
  • Other:
    • Understanding of ITIL and operational change management principles
  • Nice to Have:
    • Automation & Scripting:
      • Skills in Ansible and Python
      • Knowledge of PowerShell is an asset
      • Familiarity with YAML/JSON and Git version control

The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position in Manassas, VA is $82,361.00 USD Annual to $152,955.00 Annual USD. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
