The Gig:
The Virgin Voyages Business Systems Support Developer will be a key member of the team and major support for the business in this very early part of our life. This includes coordinating and executing testing for new software releases, collect, analyze and report system performance data, perform regular audits on all software applications and hardware used within the operation. You are a Seaware expert in all that is building and rules. You'll also help introduce other teams to these new systems and help them understand how they work and don't work and hold hands along the way.

This gig is based at VVHQ - our swanky Virgin Voyages Head Office in Plantation, FL where we follow a hybrid work environment. We can't wait to 'sea' you in person during our Collaboration Days, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while you enjoy Mondays and Fridays' as remote days.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a primary point of contact between business units and IT teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.

  • Oversee the development of system specifications, process flows, and functional requirements to ensure alignment with business goals.

  • Analyze current business processes and systems to identify areas for improvement, recommending new solutions or enhancements.

  • Perform demonstrations of system updates and processes

  • Participate in testing for releases and upgrades

  • Support and manage change requests and new initiatives

  • Teach and develop analyst system set-up and requirements

  • Create/maintain documentation workflows and technical documentation

  • Lead deployments of new initiatives

  • Ensure that project deliverables are on time, within scope, and meet quality standards..

  • Manage project timelines and resources as needed.

  • Conduct data analysis and reporting to assess system performance and recommend improvements.

  • Coordinate and create plans for major updates in system

  • Sensitivity to confidentiality

  • Act as an ambassador of the Virgin culture

Qualifications / Super Powers Required:

  • College degree or equivalent

  • Experience with working in a team environment and with external vendors

  • Travel or hospitality web/reservation system experience preferred.

  • 5+ years in business systems analysis, with experience working closely with analysts and serving as a point of contact between management and team members.

  • 6+ years of reservation systems experience. Preferably Seaware and ship PMS systems

  • System administration and business rules configuration

  • Resilient with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and strong influencing skills.

  • Enjoys working with diverse teams and bringing a positive, energetic attitude.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as an excellent team player.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Project management skills

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and project management tools.

  • Knowledge of databases, software development, and systems integration.

  • Familiarity with data analytics and change management principles.
