Familiarity with claims management software, case tracking systems, and sometimes certifications like CPCU or AIC are commonly required. Job description

About Reserv
Reserv is an insurtech creating and incubating cutting-edge AI and automation technology to bring efficiency and simplicity to claims. Founded by insurtech veterans with deep experience in SaaS and digital claims, Reserv is venture-backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures and began operations in May 2022. We are focused on automating highly manual tasks to tackle long-standing problems in claims and set a new standard for TPAs, insurance technology providers, and adjusters alike. We have ambitious (but attainable!) goals and need people who can work in an evolving environment. If building a leading TPA and the prospect of tackling the long-standing challenges of the claims role sounds exciting, we can't wait to meet you.
About the role
As a Subrogation Manager at Reserv, you will be responsible for driving our subrogation strategy to include validating, developing and enforcing (compliant) internal policies and procedures. Your expertise in leadership, along with your ability to drive operational efficiencies within the subrogation space and foster innovation, will be critical. The ideal candidate is excited about working through and designing a process that supports the quickest claim recovery with the best outcome.
This role blends hands-on oversight with operational coordination to support Reserv's long-term goals for recovery performance and client satisfaction.
What you'll do
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and tactical coordinator for all third-party subrogation vendors, overseeing day-to-day workflows, deadlines, negotiations, escalations, and recovery outcomes
  • Monitor and track open subrogation files, aging demands, recovery status, and follow-up cycles to ensure timely execution and cycle time performance
  • Review vendor documentation, correspondence, and recovery outcomes for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with Reserv standards
  • Identify performance gaps, service issues, and missed opportunities, driving remediation and holding vendors accountable to responsiveness and process consistency expectations
  • Collaborate with internal claims, legal, and operations teams to ensure accurate referral information, provide clear updates, and align on subrogation strategies
  • Maintain subrogation reporting across recovery trends, cycle time visibility, and vendor performance metrics, surfacing insights to internal stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement by recommending process enhancements, identifying strategic opportunities, and staying current on industry trends and emerging technologies in claims recovery

Who you are
  • Operationally strong and comfortable managing detailed workflows from start to finish.
  • Passionate about recovery outcomes and motivated to improve them.
  • A clear and confident communicator who works well with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proactive and accountable where you drive follow-through without being asked.
  • Tech-friendly and eager to use dashboards, claims systems, and data to guide decisions.
  • Adaptable and resilient in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
  • Positive and pragmatic. Subrogation is complex and you stay steady under pressure.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in claims, subrogation, operations, or a related field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience handling subrogation recovery for auto and /or property, paired with 2+ years in a leadership capacity to include arbitration experience
  • Strong understanding of liability, comparative negligence, and recovery principles.
  • Experience working with or coordinating external subrogation partners is preferred.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with claims systems, arbitration forums, or subrogation workflows.

Benefits
  • Generous health-insurance package with nationwide coverage, vision, & dental
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching
  • Competitive PTO policy - we want our employees fresh, healthy, happy, and energized!
  • Generous family leave policy after 8 months of continuous work
  • Work from anywhere to facilitate your work life balance
  • Apple laptop, large second monitor, and other quality-of-life equipment you may want. Technology is something that should make your life easier, not harder!

Additionally, we will
  • Listen to your feedback to enhance and improve upon the long-standing challenges of an adjuster and the claims role
  • Work toward reducing and eliminating all the administrative work from an adjuster role
  • Foster a culture of empathy, transparency, and empowerment in a remote-first environment

At Reserv, we value diversity in backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences and believe that diversity in viewpoints and critical thinking drives innovation, first-principles thinking, and success. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage those from all walks of life to apply. If you believe you are a good fit for this role, we would love to hear from you!
