Job description

The UNM School of Medicine Combined BA/MD Degree Program(BA/MD) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Student RecruitmentSpecialist to join their dynamic team. The BA/MD Program is designed to helpaddress the physician shortage in New Mexico by assembling a class of diversestudents who are committed to serving New Mexico communities.

This individual must have excellent oral and writtencommunication skills.  The Student Recruitment Specialist must beable to work well independently but must also work well as part of ateam.  The incumbent will be responsible for oversight andadministration of the recruitment process for the BA/MD program.

This position establishes and administers creativeprogramming for targeting, recruitment and retention of prospective BA/MDstudents. The Student Recruiter serves as a liaison, developing partnershipsbetween the Program, the University, school systems and communities throughoutthe state.

The selected individual will coordinate and facilitateschool visitations, presentations, community workshops, visits from prospectivestudents and parents, and other special events as part of a robust andinnovative recruitment strategy.  The selected incumbent will beresponsible for maintaining a real-time student database and producing specificreports regarding program recruitment.

This position will also work collaboratively to developmarketing materials.

The Student Recruitment Specialist will oversee therecruitment process for the BA/MD program, including oversight of work performedby the Student Recruiter position.

This position requires extensive travel throughout NewMexico.
