Position Summary
TheUNM School of Medicine Combined BA/MD Degree Program (BA/MD) is seeking ahighly organized and detail-oriented Student Recruitment Specialist to jointheir dynamic team. The BA/MD Program is designed to help address the physicianshortage in New Mexico by assembling a class of diverse students who arecommitted to serving New Mexico communities.
Thisindividual must have excellent oral and written communicationskills. The Student Recruitment Specialist must be able to work wellindependently but must also work well as part of a team. Theincumbent will be responsible for oversight and administration of therecruitment process for the BA/MD program.
Thisposition establishes and administers creative programming for targeting,recruitment and retention of prospective BA/MD students. The Student Recruiterserves as a liaison, developing partnerships between the Program, theUniversity, school systems and communities throughout the state.
Theselected individual will coordinate and facilitate school visitations,presentations, community workshops, visits from prospective students andparents, and other special events as part of a robust and innovativerecruitment strategy. The selected incumbent will be responsible formaintaining a real-time student database and producing specific reports regardingprogram recruitment.
Thisposition will also work collaboratively to develop marketing materials.
TheStudent Recruitment Specialist will oversee the recruitment process for theBA/MD program, including oversight of work performed by the Student Recruiterposition.
This position requires extensive travel throughout New Mexico.

Conditions of Employment
  • Ability to travel by vehicle or air, locally, statewide and/or out of state.
  • A valid driver's license, or ability to obtain a valid driver's license within thirty days of hire, is required for this job.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree; at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working as a student recruiter or at an accredited college or university.
  • Prior experience working with high school students.
  • Prior experience delivering presentations to large and small groups.
  • Prior experience working in rural New Mexico communities.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and CRM software.
  • Excellent communication skills, as demonstrated in required cover letter.
