Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract in Austin, TX, requiring ACLS, BLS, ENPC, TNCC, and NIHSS certifications.

Details
  • Work in a large hospital Emergency Department with 48 private rooms, 27 hallway stretchers, 9 fast track beds, and 5 behavioral health rooms
  • Patient population includes general ED, cardiac/trauma, and behavioral health cases
  • Patient ratios are 1:4 for general ED, 1:3 for cardiac/trauma, and 1:5 for behavioral health
  • Night shift schedule: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • Rotating weekend requirements
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Equipment used includes Alaris pumps, Belmont and Level 1 Rapid infusers, and Stryker stretchers
  • EMR system is MEDITECH; experience is preferred
Requirements
  • Active TX RN license or compact RN license required
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, ENPC, TNCC, NIHSS, and CPI (SAMA, MAB, or ACPMA may be accepted in lieu of CPI)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent ED RN experience required
  • No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • One professional reference required
Additional Information
  • Common procedures include splinting, EKGs, central monitoring, trauma assists, central line management, airway support, behavioral health de-escalation, Morgan lens use, rapid infuser operation, and resuscitation
  • Unit staffing includes charge nurses, mid-shift RNs, PCTs, a paramedic, and an LVN on both day and night shifts
  • MEDITECH EMR experience is preferred
  • Trauma experience is preferred
  • Experience with holding inpatient patients is preferred
  • Navy blue scrubs required for RNs
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not eligible
  • All certifications must not expire within the first 30 days of the assignment start date
