Job Opportunity

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room (OR)

Shift Details
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 4x10s with a start time of 6:30 AM
  • Rotating day off
  • 40 hours per week
  • Holiday rotation required
  • Call and weekend requirements include one overnight per week and three weekends per 13-week contract
Unit Information
  • Patient Ratios: 1:1
  • Bed Size: 16
  • Average Caseload: 35-50 cases per day with a turnover expectation of less than 20 minutes
  • Special equipment includes 3 Da Vinci robots. Utilizes Stealth technology for Neuro navigation, primarily using Synthes or Stryker for orthopedic trauma.
  • Surgical Services: Includes Cardiac, Neuro, Orthopedic (primarily trauma), Robotics, Gynecology, Urology, General Surgery, Pediatrics, and Transplants, with a small volume of ENT and plastic procedures.
  • Traveler will be required to float across multiple campuses.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 24 months of current operating room experience is required.
  • Experience in circulating and operating room tasks is required.
  • Scrub experience is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in General, Da Vinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma cases is required.
  • Additional experience in Neurology, Orthopedics (primarily trauma), Gynecology, Urology, Transplants, Plastics, ENT, and Vascular procedures is highly preferred.
  • Experience with EPIC electronic medical records systems within the last 3 years is required.
  • Trauma Level I experience is highly preferred, and Trauma Level II experience is required.
  • No first-time travelers; candidates must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 9 months.
Certifications and Licenses
  • Must possess an active Iowa state license or a compact/multistate nursing license at the time of submission.
  • Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required.
