STRATEGY ASSOCIATE ANALYST - COMMERCIAL BANKING PRODUCTS
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
The Commercial Banking Products (CBP) Strategy & Enbalement team at City National Bank is responsible for supporting the strategy and enablement needs of the CBP organization. The Associate Analyst supports the broader organization with the strategic planning, business & data analytics, as well as other project oriented activities. This colleague conducts market research, gathers data, and performs analysis to key initiatives. This colleague assists in preparing reports and presentations on strategic initiatives, helps in the development and tracking of key performance indicators (KPIs) and contributes to the monitoring of the banking industry trends. This colleague is adaptive and has the ability to quickly learn new processes and subject matter across different products, businesses, and disciplines.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
  • Assist with CBPs planning and data analytics processes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across CBP's various departments
  • Support the Strategy and Enablement team on a broad range of initiatives for the divisions.
  • Provide and create dashboards and reporting to senior management on key initiatives.
  • Support risk processes (e.g., RiskID, Risk and Controls Assessment, Business Continuity Planning) and audit of strategic planning.
  • Help perform business analysis, including tracking and analysis of industry trends.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?
Required Qualifications*
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 1 year of experience in financial services/consulting/technology or similar analytical industry
  • 1 year of experience conducting business analysis, managing complex projects and/or implementing business/technology strategy
  • 1 year of experience and familiarity with data analysis and business intelligence tools (e.g. SQL, PowerBI, Tableau, Alteryx and/or Snowflake)

  • Ability to create clear and concise documents with strong storyline for executive conversations
  • Experience in using data and analysis to drive strategic recommendations
  • Comfort with working under ambiguous, complex, multi-stakeholder and fast-moving situations whilst still driving a project to its successful completion
  • Understanding of key banking products, platforms, industry dynamics and trends is preferred
  • Ability to support and report on several strategic initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment as well as independently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
  • Exceptional work ethic, with the ability to pay close attention to details as well as have a strategic big-picture mindset
  • Ability to work with confidential and sensitive nonpublic informationTraining Experience

Starting base salary: $31.39 - $50.14 per hour. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
