The Strategic Partnerships team builds deep, long-term relationships with Whatnot sellers-guiding them to scale efficiently, elevate buyer experience, and innovate on the platform.
This role sits at the intersection of partnership management, category strategy, and go-to-market execution. You'll partner closely with your Category Lead, Marketing, Trust & Safety, and Product teams to turn seller insights into action and ensure your team delivers exceptional results for sellers and buyers.
As a Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will manage a targeted portfolio of sellers and execute against tailored growth strategies that align with Whatnot's broader category and company goals. You'll act as a trusted advisor, blending analytical rigor with creative problem-solving to help sellers grow sustainably while delivering an exceptional buyer experience.
Role
  • Manage a defined book of business. Develop and execute account strategies for your sellers, focused on quarterly growth, product adoption, and operational health.
  • Drive sustainable seller growth. Analyze performance trends and use data-driven insights to identify new opportunities for GMV expansion, buyer engagement, and platform adoption.
  • Deliver exceptional partnership management. Build trusted relationships with sellers through consistent coaching, actionable feedback, and deep business understanding.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally. Partner with Category Leads, Product, Marketing, and Policy teams to surface insights, influence roadmaps, and coordinate initiatives that support your sellers' success and ensure a great buyer experience across the Whatnot platform.
  • Advocate internally for your sellers. Translate seller needs into clear business cases and work with cross-functional partners to unlock growth opportunities and address pain points.
  • Execute with precision. Manage multiple concurrent initiatives and prioritize your time. From marketing activations to operational improvements you will ensure that projects stay on scope, on time, and deliver measurable impact.
  • Contribute to team learning. Share best practices, insights, and account learnings with peers to help scale Whatnot's partnership excellence across the broader Strategic Partnerships team.
You
  • 5+ years of experience in partnerships, business development, account management, or client success - ideally within ecommerce, creator platforms, or marketplaces.
  • Strong analytical and commercial skills with a proven ability to identify growth levers and execute data-driven strategies.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce, Gong, Sigma, and other analytical or partnership management tools.
  • Comfort with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Salesforce automation, Gong AI, hex, etc.) and demonstrated ability to use them to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; able to influence partners and internal stakeholders with clarity and confidence.
  • High ownership and accountability; able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
  • Proven project management discipline across concurrent workstreams.
  • Adaptability, curiosity, and a low-ego, high-impact mindset.
