Job description

Flex is a growth-stage, NYC headquartered FinTech company that is creating the best rent payment experience. It's hard to believe that it's 2026 and paying rent on time is expensive, inflexible, and difficult. We're here to change that! Flex enables our users to pay rent throughout the month on a schedule that better fits their finances and budget. Our mission is to empower as many renters as possible with flexibility over their most significant recurring expense. After deliberately keeping a stealth profile as we built up unprecedented investor support and an enthusiastic user base, we are looking for motivated individuals to help us keep our mission growing. Will you be a part of the team?
About the Role
Flex is seeking an ambitious, results-driven Director of Strategic Partnerships to launch, manage, and scale our most complex, high-impact enterprise partnerships in the core rent vertical - including exploring new entry points for the rent consumer through new types of partnerships. This role is ideal for a driven strategic operator with a proven record of autonomously delivering measurable results through partnership growth. Reporting directly to the Head of Strategic Partnerships, you'll play a critical role in developing and executing partnership strategies that directly impact Flex's bottom line. This position offers a hybrid work environment with the flexibility to work remotely.
Key Responsibilities
Partnership Development & Launch
  • Launch new strategic partnerships aligned with Flex's growth objectives, including higher-complexity deals that require independent judgment on structure and sequencing
  • Lead the creation of joint business plans, financial modeling, and growth initiatives
  • Define, implement and run winning operating rhythm to maximize value
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, Engineering, Support and Legal teams at Flex and partner organizations to maximize execution and impact

Partner Growth & Operations:
  • Manage and expand relationships with Flex's largest and most complex strategic partners, fostering trust and long-term collaboration across the organization
  • Develop clear paths to value for new types of rent partnerships, collaborating cross-functionally to test and learn and align on the best execution models
  • Build and deliver on your partnership business plan; independently drive progress on key partner initiatives, resolving issues and aligning stakeholders to deliver measurable wins, including with partners where the relationship requires more work to move forward
  • Own day-to-day partner operations, ensuring smooth execution and communications
  • Drive monthly and quarterly partnership business reviews
  • Track, analyze, and report on partnership performance metrics, identifying and pursuing nuanced growth opportunities and areas for improvement
  • Design and oversee partnership GTM efforts working closely with product, sales and marketing teams

Strategy
  • Develop and implement processes and frameworks to manage partnerships efficiently
  • Align partnership initiatives with Flex's broader strategic objectives
  • Provide insights and strategic recommendations to continuously enhance partnership value
  • Drive partner contract renewal negotiations
  • Navigate partner relationship complexity, including competitive dynamics and broader partnership strategy
Key Qualifications:
  • 8-10+ years of relevant experience in FinTech/SaaS business development, strategic partnerships, enterprise sales, investment banking, or top-tier strategy consulting roles
  • Demonstrated success independently launching and scaling complex strategic partnerships or managing high-value strategic client relationships
  • Comfort with ambiguity and the judgment to structure a path forward with less established partners or processes
  • Exceptional skills in cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder alignment, and execution
  • Strong analytical capabilities, with experience leveraging data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities, capable of influencing at senior levels
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple high-stakes projects simultaneously
  • Comfortable thriving in fast-paced, dynamic environments with a proactive and flexible approach
  • Self-driven with an ownership mindset, committed to delivering measurable impact with minimal oversight
  • Bachelor's degree required
