Job description

THE POSITION

Fast Forward is hiring a Program Manager to support the execution of our programs for tech nonprofits. This is a hands-on role for someone who is organized, a natural leader, and genuinely excited about helping tech nonprofits grow and scale their impact. You'll plug in where the need is greatest across our programs, and over time build the experience to design and lead projects and initiatives.

The role is a unique opportunity for a builder early in their career to learn the craft of accelerator and founder programs from the inside and work directly with mission-driven entrepreneurs. We're looking for someone who blends sharp execution with empathy for founders and believes deeply in the potential of tech and AI-powered nonprofits.

The Program Manager reports to the VP of Programs and operates as a centralized resource supporting the broader Programs team.  This is a full-time, in-office role based in San Francisco, CA.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Your role will flex where there are needs across programs, and you will :

  • Own specific pieces of program logistics across Fast Forward's portfolio (scheduling, vendor coordination, run of show, materials, follow-through) so that everything feels seamless to founders.
  • Contribute analytical insight to program strategy and reporting, translating data into findings that guide decisions.
  • Connect tech non profits to the right help, whether that's a mentor, advisor, or outside expert.
  • Be a reliable point of contact for founders in the programs you're working in, tracking progress and making sure they have what they need to succeed.
  • Coordinate across program leads and stakeholders to keep work moving and the founder experience coherent.
  • Help facilitate workshops, discussion sessions, and curriculum delivery for tech nonprofit founders on topics ranging from fundraising to technical strategy.
  • Contribute to building and maintaining our mentor, advisor, and volunteer network.
  • Maintain accurate records in Fast Forward's CRM and program systems, and help manage program data.
  • Use tech and AI tools to streamline workflows and document what we learn.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • 4-6 years of work experience in a startup, accelerator, nonprofit, and/or entrepreneur serving organization.
  • Direct experience working in the social impact field, or equivalent academic coursework.
  • Familiarity with the startup environment: you understand common founder challenges and can support the rollout of programs designed to address them.
  • Hands-on program execution experience, including event support, workshop facilitation, project management, or coaching.
  • Comfortable adopting and recommending tech and AI tools to support your work; you have a strong intuition for how technology is built and used.
  • Comfort working with data, including surveying founders, tracking outcomes, and turning insight into program improvements.
  • Genuine commitment to mission-driven work and empathy for the people and communities we serve.
  • A strong communicator with sharp attention to detail and a high bar for getting the details right.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments and work cross-functionally.

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS

  • Unlimited paid time off (PTO)
  • 401k retirement plan & employer matching
  • Office is located in a beautiful national park - The Presidio - with free transit to/from downtown San Francisco!
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Most importantly, input on the office snack order

COMPENSATION

Salary: $100- $115k - negotiable depending on experience
