TAMPA SPORTS AUTHORITY

DIVISION/DEPARTMENT                                                     Golf /Sportsplex Operations

POSITION TITLE:                                                               Lead Food and Beverage  Attendant

                                                                                                                           NC ($15.00 - $20.15 Hourly) - PT

POSITION CLASSIFICATION:                                            Untenured

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Lead Food and Beverage Attendant shall be responsible for assisting with the general management and supervision of all areas of the concession stand and area. They shall also be responsible for customer services duties in the food and beverage operations ensuring that sales and services are provided in an efficient, effective, and timely manner. This position personally performs culinary tasks while working on a team and managing all food related functions. This person performs independent cashiering duties, collecting and processing payments and refunds.

In addition, the Lead Food and Beverage Attendant shall be responsible for adherence to Authority operational policies and procedures designed to promote efficiency of operation and quality of service.

POSITION REPORTS DIRECTLY TO:                               Event Coordinator

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Greets guests to create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
  2. Takes food and beverage orders
  3. Collects payments and  operates the cash registers.
  4. Prepares food and beverages; prepares and serves alcoholic beverages.
  5. Provides directions and other information on pricing and food/beverage selection as needed.
  6. Reviews documents, receipts, and payments for correctness; calculates amounts to be collected; and processes payments using a computerized cashiering system.
  7. Assists in verifying and reconciling cash drawer upon completion of work shift; prepares deposit slip to be included in daily cash receipts.
  8. Assists in monitoring satellite food and beverage locations, sales activities and inventory replenishment as needed; assists in verifying and reconciling cash and inventories; prepares deposit slips to be included in daily food and beverage cash receipts.
  9. Assists with inventory control measures at the Golf Course or Hillsborough County Tournament Sportsplex (Sportsplex); reviews and reports all inconsistencies in cash or inventory to the Operations Manager and/or Director of Golf or Sportsplex upon discovery.
  10. Ensures that food and beverage preparation and serving areas are kept in a clean and neat manner in accordance with established food preparation regulations.
  11. Assists in providing a safe environment free of harassment for department employees and ensure compliance with all Authority policies, applicable OSHA standards and local, state, and federal laws including the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990.
  12. Provides training to any volunteers working the stand.
  13. Other duties, functions, and responsibilities, as assigned.

General Requirements:

  1. Knowledge in administrative and operational rules, procedures and programs of the food and beverage department.
  2. Working knowledge of short order food and alcohol preparation and service.
  3. Working knowledge of proper sanitation practices and products utilized in food and beverage preparation.
  4. Knowledgeable in the laws governing the sale of alcoholic beverages.
  5. Willingness and ability to work irregular schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; the performance of work assignments may not be directly related to job specifications. Adjustments of shifts, overtime, breaks, etc. may be required upon short notice.
  6. Knowledge of procedures and temperatures for storing and rotating food stock in coolers, refrigerators, freezers, dry storage, etc. to maintain freshness ("First in, First Out"). This includes preparing, labeling, dating, rotating, and pulling perishable foods and drinks in accordance with storage guidelines; identifying food products that do not meet company or compliance standards; and knowledge of policies and procedures for discarding food items or products.
  7. Ability to handle cash and financial transactions.
  8. Ability to interact with a diverse group of fellow employees, clients, the general public and outside vendors in a courteous, cooperative, and professional manner.
  9. Ability to maintain a high public image, positive attitude and demeanor when performing a service for customers and the general public.
  10. Ability to make mathematical calculations.
  11. Must have the ability to learn and understand Point of Sale (POS) sales systems.
  12. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, in the English language.
  13. Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time and work in non-air-conditioned environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High School diploma or a GED certificate required.
  2. Two (2) years of food and beverage preparation work experience required.
  3. Must possess a valid driver's license.
