Ice Cream Scooper Job Description:

We are looking for a hard-working person with a positive attitude. We pride ourselves on the quality of our customer service, and we want our employees to handle each customer with care, patience, and attentiveness.

It's important that our ice cream scooper is able to multitask, handling multiple orders simultaneously and keeping all the customers satisfied.

Some of the main responsibilities of an ice cream scooper in our shop are to greet the customers, process orders, scoop the ice cream, serve the guests in a friendly and professional manner, and operate the cash register.

Responsibilities of an Ice Cream Scooper:
  • Take orders, offer samples, suggest allergen alternatives, and enter purchases into the point-of-sale terminal
  • Receive and facilitate to-go orders via point-of-sale or phone
  • Function as a point of contact for direct and third-party customers ordering to-go
  • Deliver orders to customers in person
  • Offer assistance to customers as requested
  • Prepare ice cream station upon arrival
  • Stock and re-stock ice cream case as needed
  • Stock and re-stock cold beverage case as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of scooping station
  • Assist in bussing, wiping tables, mopping floors, & maintenance of tidy serving area
  • Discard of left behind trash, take trash bags to the dumpster, and sanitize
  • Assist in maintenance of general cleanliness as needed
  • Including bathrooms, patios, dining rooms, and guest thoroughfares
  • Weekly deep cleaning duties as directed, including defrosting and sanitizing of coolers
Ice Cream Scooper Requirements:
  • Able to lift 30 - 50 pounds.
  • Flexible schedule with weekend availability.
  • Team player who has the ability to follow instructions.
  • Self-starter and can work with and without direct supervision.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Closed-toe slip resistant shoes.
  • Valid Food Handler’s Certification.

You can even place your order online or over the phone and have it ready when you arrive. Being conveniently located just feet from the Schlitterbahn and Comal River exits, Tin Top is a place where you and your friends can close out a long day with a full belly. We're also proud to be in partnership with Rhea's Ice Cream, which has been serving delicious and unique flavors to New Braunfels for a few years. Once you're done with your delicious burger, don't hesitate to follow up your dinner with one of Rhea's Ice Cream's many flavors or one of their freshly baked cookies. You can even turn your soda into a float! Our two establishments are located next door to each other, and share an open space within a charming historical home. You can choose to sit inside at one of our quaint and comfortable tables, or you can make your way out to the yard, where we will have picnic tables and a small play area for the little ones, all enclosed with our white picket fence.
THE FOOD
Tin Top's signature patty is a pork and beef blend developed by our highly-trained and seasoned chef. We source our grass-fed black angus beef from a true Texas legend, Nolan Ryan Beef. The burgers on the menu are unique and mouth-watering. From our Classic Burger, made with house-made pickles and mustard, to our Rueben Burger, with pastrami and sauerkraut, to our Bloody Mary Burger, our delicious eats will surely keep you coming back for more. What's more, every month we will offer a new and unique burger of the month. For those that don't eat pork, or don't eat meat at all, we offer a 100% black angus patty option at no additional charge, as well as the Beyond Burger plant-based patty option at a modest upcharge.
THE BEER
Tin Top has a broad selection of canned beer. Along with the standard domestic favorites, we offer a colorful array of Texas craft options. And if you aren’t really sure what you want, or are feeling adventurous, grab one of our Mystery Craft 4-Packs at a favorable discount. If you're not much of a beer drinker, then be sure to try one the tasty wine options, or our sweet and tart Frozen Hard Cider!
