Job description

The Opportunity
The Tax Manager will be part of a team responsible for the management of individual, gift, and trust tax compliance and consulting. In addition, the Tax Manager may also participate in managing certain aspects of investment entity tax compliance and trust and estate administration. The specific responsibilities of the Tax Manager will be assigned based on their previous work experience. The Tax Manager will report to the Director - Tax and collaborate with tax department leadership to provide exceptional service and counsel to the individuals, trusts, foundations, and investment entities that RDV Corporation serves.

What You'll Do
  • Supervision and development of tax department personnel
  • Management of individual, gift, trust, or investment entity tax compliance process including workpaper design and automation, record management and retention, and working with external service providers
  • Review of individual, gift, trust, or investment entity tax filings for completeness, accuracy, and risk mitigation
  • Management of IRS and state examinations and notices
  • Work with the team on analysis and implementation of strategic tax planning opportunities
  • Work with the Associate Director of Trusts & Estates and outside legal counsel in preparation and review of trust estate planning documents, if assigned based on experience
  • Display pro-active initiative to research, suggest, and implement efficiencies and best practices within the department

What You'll Bring
  • Must have a bachelor's degree with a master's degree in taxation preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience with a public accounting firm or equivalent
  • Must have a strong attention to detail with the ability to understand complex tax issues
  • Must display strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities
  • Demonstrates exceptional accuracy and ownership of project work and results including following through on commitments
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, verbal, and written communications skills with the ability to collaborate with a variety of people including internal team members, business executives, clients, external partners, vendors, and government representative
  • Uncompromising commitment to highest level of confidentiality in all aspects of job responsibilities
