Facility Site Coordinator - Ice Rink

The Sterling Heights Parks & Recreation Department is seeking applicants for Ice Rink Facility Site Coordinator. Available shifts are morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours. This position will be responsible for supervision of the ice rink inside of Dodge Park. Operating season is December through February. Hourly rate is $19.50, based on completion of training. Position reports directly to Recreation Superintendent during the ice-skating season.

Position Responsibilities

  • Providing customer service to all patrons
  • Providing supervision/direction to ice rink attendants
  • Performing daily inspections of rink for safety/cleanliness
  • Enforcing ice rink rules
  • Directing ice rink events and maintenance of ice during operations
  • Assisting in pre-season startup and post-season shutdown activities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to skate is required
  • Zamboni experience is preferred, but training will be provided
  • Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license
  • Must pass a background check and First Aid/CPR training

Ice Rink Monitor/Aide

The Sterling Heights Parks and Recreation Department is seeking applicants for seasonal Ice Rink Monitor & Ice Rink Aide positions. Available shifts are morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend hours. These positions will be responsible for assisting with the Dodge Park Ice Rink Operations. Ability to skate is preferred but not required. Operating season is December through February. Hourly wage is $16.00 - $17.50 based on experience and completion of training.

Position Responsibilities

  • Communicating with ice rink patrons
  • Skate guard, skate rental
  • Counter sales
  • Enforcement of ice rink rules
  • Assisting in pre-season startup and post-season shutdown activities
  • Performing janitorial duties of ice rink area and office

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to skate preferred, but not required
  • Must be at least 16 years of age and possess a valid driver's license
  • Applicants must pass a background check and First Aid/CPR training
