ANTS Sports is hiring a Youth Sports Program Manager to join us in our mission to inspire a life-long love of play for the next generation in San Francisco.

ANTS Sports enriches the lives of Bay Area 10 & under youth with fun, safe, and age-appropriate sports programs. Our popular school-day recess programs, after-school programs and summer camps run in 50+ elementary school and park locations across the Bay, and demand for our programs is growing. This position reports directly to the Owner/CEO; the right candidate will be a key decision-maker affecting the company's future.

ANTS means “America’s Next Talented Stars.” When kids join our programs, they often tell us that ANTS is the most fun they’ve ever had playing sports. Our “North Star” as an organization is to be known as the most fun enrichment program available for kids in the Bay Area. In our programs, kids learn social-emotional skills and practice sportsmanship from an early age.

In this SF-based position, you’ll manage a team of Site Leads, Assistant Site Leads, and Coaches that are delivering on the ANTS Promise in multiple locations across the city. You will ensure the high quality of our structured recess program, after school extended care program, and holiday/summer camps. You will recruit, train, and manage multi-sport coaches serving about 5-10 program sites. You will nurture strong relationships with school and organizational leaders and uphold our reputation as a trustworthy organization. When called to, you will be an amazing multi-sport coach leading with positivity and fun. Finally, you will exercise your entrepreneurial skills by designing new workflows and processes that will help our company be more efficient. You will impact a small, fast-growing organization with a limitless ceiling.

This is primarily a work-from-home position, though you will be expected to be in the field visiting our various school sites from 11am-5pm on most weekdays. Physical presence in SF is required due to the on-site nature of the work. The target salary based on experience is $65,000-$85,000. This position offers unlimited vacation days, matching 401K plan, performance bonuses, and flexible hours.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Site Leads, Assistant Site Leads, and Coaches across SF program sites, including regular 1:1s, performance conversations, and day-to-day support
  • Conduct daily onsite visits to schools and parks to ensure program quality, support your team in the field, and coach kids when needed
  • Lead a multimedia onboarding and training program for all new hires at every experience level
  • Use your own sports coaching expertise to help coaches launch their programs successfully through in-person shadowing and actionable feedback
  • Lead monthly professional development workshops with the goal of making ANTS Sports a great place for coaches to grow and stay

Program management responsibilities:

  • Own staffing and scheduling decisions for all SF-area programs throughout the year
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for program quality and partner satisfaction across your regional portfolio
  • Execute and continuously improve our systems for communicating with parents, school site partners, and coaches
  • Drive best-in-class customer service for families enrolled in our programs
  • Oversee seasonal delivery and retrieval of sports equipment in coordination with our central storage hub
  • When called upon, coach K-5th grade sports programs including beginner level tennis, pickleball, basketball, soccer, yoga, flag football, volleyball, and more

Partnership and Regional Growth:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with school site partners, district contacts, and community organizations across San Francisco
  • Identify and pursue partnership opportunities that expand ANTS Sports into new communities and program formats
  • Represent ANTS Sports at school events, community gatherings, and partner meetings to deepen our presence in the city

Operations and Organizational Development:

  • Design workflows, processes, and systems that make your region run more efficiently and that can scale across the organization
  • Collaborate directly with the Owner/CEO on regional strategy, staffing models, and long-term growth initiatives

Requirements
