GENERAL PURPOSE

This position requires availability Monday-Friday (8:00am-5pm) & also evenings and weekends.

The Assistant Director of Youth Sports reports directly to the Director of Youth Sports. They will assist in the day-to-day execution of responsibilities outlined below

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helps to procure program supplies and equipment
  • Assists in driving volunteer recruitment for the program
  • Works directly with the public. This includes but is not limited to; enrollment, ensuring fields and complexes are set up and in compliance for sporting events, recruitment of coaches and teams, finding sponsors for program, assists in keeping program and rules updated, etc.
  • Will be responsible for collecting and securing money
  • Participates in Youth Sports fundraising efforts and events
  • Provides supervision at program athletic at every WSR Athletic event assigned
  • Complete additional duties as assigned by director

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment such as copy machine, postage machine, etc.
  • Good communication and customer service skills

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Current First Aid and CPR/AED Certification or the ability to obtain certification within the first year of hire
  • Must obtain Missouri Child abuse and neglect mandated reporter training with in first two weeks of hire
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat or extreme cold weather; conditions may include up to seven hours at a time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - MINIMUM

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE - PREFERRED

  • Knowledge of the rules and regulations of all offered sports programs
  • 1-2 years' experience in youth sports management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions including extreme heat and extreme cold.
  • Be able to tolerate exposure to typical noises and smells associated with outdoors
