This is an Association serving more than 80,000 community members each year. The Hernando County Family Branch is located on 20 acres in Hernando County. It has a 27,000 square foot main building with one aquatic venue, a splash pad, outdoor basketball/pickleball courts, kids zone, cycle room, multi-purpose rooms, beach volleyball, teen center, multi-purpose sports field, and 8,000 square foot Wellness Center. The branch impacts over 9,000 people in our community with a focus on Healthy Living, Social Responsibility, and Youth Development.Position Summary:This position, as a top administrative branch staff in an Association actively engaged in many national Y initiatives, is responsible for day-to-day general administration of the Programs Department including staff supervision, budgeting, expense control, income generation, program development and quality control, and committee development, community relations, collaborations, long-range planning, and facility maintenance. The Sports Director also provides direction and leadership for the achievement of Association goals in accordance with the policies, procedures and standards established by the Board. This position is responsible for running youth and adult sports such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, t-ball, kickball, flag football and pickle ball.Core and Strategic Functions: 1) High-Quality Programs, Services, and FacilitiesDirect and administer total operation of the Sports Department including the interpretation and execution of established policies, the development of procedures and methods, staffing, evaluation of the effectiveness of the programs, and operations.Plan and conduct a wide variety of programs and activities that maximize the facilities, support the cause, and enhance membership.Create a nurturing and safe environment by reporting suspicious activity that may lead to child abuse or may violate the code of conduct. Must be able to multi-task, be able to manage and cultivate relationships, and have a high level of emotional maturity.
