Full Job Description:
i9 Sports is looking to hire reliable and enthusiastic officials. As an i9 Sports official, you will not only serve as the enforcer of the rules, but will be a culture cultivator, an impartial on-field coach, and an advocate for our sports program. Seeking HIGH ENERGY, FUN, RELIABLE, and SERVICE ORIENTED people to officiate weekend basketball, flag football, soccer, baseball/T-ball and volleyball games for boys and girls ranging from 3-14 years old. Practice and games are played on Saturdays (and Sundays during winter season) at multiple locations through the Grand Rapids area.
Previous experience with youth sports, officiating, and/or customer service are a plus but not required.
Requirements:
  • Enjoy working with kids
  • Clean background check
  • Reliable transportation to and from games and training
  • Be confident and capable of working alongside parents and upholding the i9 Sports philosophy and help us deliver a great i9 experience on the fields and courts
  • OUTSTANDING energy and enthusiasm

Job Responsibilities:
  • Enforce the rules of the game while ensuring safety for all athletes and coaches.
  • Facilitate/lead youth sports pledge before game.
  • Ensure game starts on time and track scores
  • Actively engage with coaches. Always explain to the coaches how the game will be called.
  • Act as stand-in coach for teams if necessary.
  • Ensure sports equipment are properly adjusted and placed according to age divisions.
  • Assist program directors with set-up/clean-up as needed.
  • Maintain control of game. Keep composure under pressure. Help keep a positive environment. Do not allow coaches or parents to argue with you.
  • Attend all staff meetings and trainings as required.

Job Type: Part-time
Compensation: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
