SENIOR TECHNICAL REPORT WRITER

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for reporting scientific and technical information in a manner that can be understood by an average reader. Responsible for research and preparing technical reports to support due diligence related projects. Responsible for personnel management, training, and oversight of others’ work. Work is performed with direction from experienced, technical managers, under the general supervision of a Senior Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Serve as the direct supervisor of personnel and provide regular performance reviews and corrective action
  2. Manage, train, review, approve and post work performed by others
  3. Demonstrated proficiency in writing reports, management of tasks, and utilization of report queue
    • QA/QC responsibilities for all report types
    • Prepare, review, proofread, and modify technical environmental reports
    • Provide figures, photographs, and supporting documentation to illustrate or clarify information presented in the body of reports
    • Review and summarize previous assessment reports, historical and regulatory records, and other documents
    • Conduct interviews with property owners, occupants, key site personnel and local government officials to obtain information concerning the environmental conditions of a property
  1. Develop a specialty and mentor and train in that specialty
  2. Provide mentoring/training and guidance to other writers
  3. Primary delegator with doer responsibilities
  4. Create and maintain training preparation materials and execution of portions of staff training
  5. Assist with report writing queue management as needed
  6. Maintain Parcel Platform Default Language Library

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education: B.S. in History, English, Environmental Science, Communications, or a science-based field

Experience: 6+years of related experience and Phase I experience
