Boeing Global Services Software Quality Engineering Manager

Boeing Global Services (BGS)is seeking a hands-on Software Quality Engineering Manager tojoin ourQuality Organization!This is an on-site position and may belocatedat one of the following locations: Denver, CO, Hazelwood, MO, Berkeley, MO, Long beach, CA, or Oklahoma City, OK

In this role you willlead a distributed team of Software Quality Engineers supporting mission-critical aerospace and defense programs. You will align Software Quality Engineering (SQE) priorities with program needs across St. Louis, Long Beach, and Oklahoma City, partner with Business Unit leads to define workload and technicalexpectations anddrive increased SQE engagement and consistent software quality practices across the organization.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coach, and manage a team of Software Quality Engineers supporting multiple BGSprograms;own hiring, performance development, and career progression.

  • Translate program technical and contractual requirements into SQE priorities and deliverables; align SQE execution with program schedules and budgets.

  • Define and implement SQE processes, checklists, and metrics to verify software compliance, reliability, and safety on assigned programs.

  • Provide approval and oversight of technical approaches, software verification strategies, and software quality artifacts.

  • Coordinate supplier SQE activities; provide technical direction and assess supplier deliverables for quality and conformance.

  • Identifyand drive continuous process improvements (root-cause analysis, lessons learned, defect reduction).

  • Maintain productive relationships with customers, stakeholders, program managers, and cross-functional teams; escalate and resolve elevated SQE issues.

  • Perform Cost Account Manager CAM duties for Government Training Engineering (GTE) and Support Equipment (SE).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functionalproject/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Engineering Technology,Manufacturing Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry,or non-US equivalent qualificationsdirectly relatedto the work statement

  • 5+yearsofexperience supporting software development programs, including hands-on experience with software verification, reviews, or testing

  • 3+ year of experienceleading technical teams (people management, mentoring, performance management)

  • 3+ year ofproven abilityworkingwith program leadership to prioritize and resolve technical qualityissues

  • This position may require up to20%travel

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active U.S. security clearance

  • Software quality engineering experience supporting software with AS9115, DO-178, and/or MIL-STD-882E requirements.

  • Practical experience with Agile software development and CI/CD pipelines

  • Background in Software Quality Engineering practices (test strategy, test automation, static analysis, code reviews)

  • Familiarity withDevSecOpstooling and secure software development lifecycle (SAST/DAST, automated builds, artifact management)

  • Experience coordinating supplier quality assurance for embedded or avionics software
