Job Summary

TRC Talent Solutions is seeking skilled and motivated Equipment Technicians to support advanced manufacturing operations in White, Georgia. The Equipment Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and continuous improvement of highly automated production equipment used in battery cell manufacturing. This position plays a critical role in maintaining production efficiency, product quality, equipment reliability, and workplace safety in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with industrial equipment, automated manufacturing systems, electrical and mechanical components, PLC-controlled machinery, and preventive maintenance programs. Candidates must possess strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve complex equipment issues while minimizing production downtime.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on battery cell manufacturing equipment including coating, calendaring, slitting, stacking, welding, formation, assembly, material handling, and automated production systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation-related issues on production equipment and manufacturing machinery.

  • Diagnose equipment failures using electrical testing devices, diagnostic tools, schematics, manuals, and control system software.

  • Support machine installation, commissioning, startup activities, equipment relocation projects, and process improvement initiatives.

  • Perform equipment inspections and identify opportunities to improve machine reliability, efficiency, and performance.

  • Calibrate sensors, instrumentation, measurement devices, and process control equipment according to company standards and operational requirements.

  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, Production Supervisors, and Maintenance Teams to implement corrective actions and equipment upgrades.

  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance activities within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

  • Respond quickly to equipment alarms, machine breakdowns, and production interruptions to restore operations safely and efficiently.

  • Assist with root cause analysis investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions to reduce recurring equipment failures.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing, 5S, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), and problem-solving methodologies.

  • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements to increase uptime, productivity, safety, and product quality.

  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company safety guidelines, lockout/tagout procedures, environmental policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

  • Participate in shift handoff meetings and communicate equipment status, maintenance activities, and production impacts effectively.

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial maintenance, equipment maintenance, manufacturing maintenance, automation maintenance, or a related technical field.

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, electrical systems, motors, drives, bearings, belts, conveyors, pumps, sensors, and automation components.

  • Experience troubleshooting production equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, automotive, semiconductor, battery, electronics, food production, or high-volume production environment.

  • Knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment, industrial controls, HMIs, variable frequency drives (VFDs), relays, and industrial automation systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder logic diagrams, mechanical drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Experience using hand tools, power tools, precision measurement devices, and diagnostic testing equipment.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
