Job description

LIFE AS A SHOP HELPER...
At Malin, we rely greatly on our Shop Helper to make sure life at Malin is in order and that everyone is taken care of operationally. The Shop Helper is a friend to many helping with shop operations, building upkeep and maintenance and events. The successful person in this role will be a self-starter with the ability to see when things need to be done and foresee any issues that may arise.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* General maintenance and upkeep of Malin ground and various buildings on the property.
* Internal/external cleaning of building.
* Assist with shop operations upkeep.
* Help with event set-up and breakdown.
* Keep office areas, buildings and warehouse areas organized and clean.
* Stripping; waxing; buffing of floors.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
* One or more years of experience in grounds and building maintenance/upkeep
* High school graduate or equivalent
* Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
* Hardworking and energetic
* Excellent customer service skills
* Excellent time-management skills
* Solid written and documentation skills
* Solid verbal communication skills
* Coachable and teamwork spirit
Language & Communication Skills
* Ability to read and interpret customer communications and common documents;
* Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from internal customers
Physical Requirements
Climbing, stopping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Heavy work, exerting up to 100 pound of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: operating machines where the seeing job is at or within arm's reach; performing mechanical or skilled trade tasks of a non-repetitive nature. Subjected to inside and outside environmental conditions, noise, vibration, oils, atmospheric conditions and a variety of physical activities such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current or exposure to chemicals.
