Job description

Shop Assistant
Northern Clearing is looking to hire a full-time mechanical Shop Assistant to work in our Ashland, WI Shop.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
As a shop assistant, your role will be to provide assistance and support to the shop.
  • Assist mechanics, technicians, or shop foreman with daily tasks
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
  • Sweep floors, empty trash, and clean work areas and equipment
  • Stock and organize tools, parts, and supplies
  • Receive, Inspect, and store incoming inventory
  • Deliver tools, materials, and parts to technicians as needed
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling equipment
  • Dispose of waste materials according to safety and environmental guidelines
  • Assist with loading and unloading trucks and equipment
  • Build and set up spill kits for jobsites
  • Clean, organize, and stock job trailers when they need to go out to jobsites
  • Run Mail daily
  • Additional responsibilities will be determined by the Shop Manager

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The successful candidate will be a hard worker, have a can-do attitude, personable, punctual, and safety minded.
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Ability to lift 50-75 lbs.
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
