Impact Electronic Solutions - Grants Pass Location (ESAM) - Position DescriptionSummary of PositionThe Shipping Clerk is responsible for accurately and efficiently preparing shipments to ensure products are packaged, documented, and shipped to the correct destination. This position calculates shipping rates, selects appropriate shipping methods, prepares required shipping documentation, verifies orders for accuracy, and maintains shipping records using company and carrier computer systems. Strong computer skills, organization, accuracy, and attention to detail are essential to this position.Duties:Counts, verifies weights, measures, and confirms quantities of outgoing products.Selects appropriate packaging and securely packs orders using spacers, dividers, protective materials, and other necessary packing supplies.Determines the appropriate shipping method based on customer requirements, delivery timelines, and carrier requirements.Prepares and processes all required shipping documentation, including shipping labels, packing slips, Bills of Lading (BOL), and freight documentation.Prepares international shipments and completes required shipping and customs documentation accurately and in accordance with carrier and destination requirements.Reviews all orders prior to shipment to verify product, quantity, documentation, shipping method, and customer destination are correct.Enters, maintains, and retrieves shipping information using company databases, shipping software, carrier websites, and other computer-based systems.Tracks shipments through delivery and assists with resolving shipping or delivery discrepancies as necessary.Assists with moving orders and loading boxes or freight onto carrier vehicles.Maintains inventory of shipping materials and orders supplies as necessary.Identifies and recommends opportunities to improve shipping processes, accuracy, and efficiency.Performs special assignments and other duties as required.Requirements:Strong computer skills are required, including the ability to efficiently navigate computer databases, shipping software, carrier websites, email, and other business applications.Experience with or ability to learn UPS, FedEx, and other carrier shipping systems.Ability to accurately prepare and review shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading.Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines.Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to accurately count, enter data, and verify shipping information.Ability to distinguish colors.Must have the strength and ability to perform physical activities requiring considerable use of the arms and legs and movement of the whole body, including lifting, walking, stooping, bending, and handling materials.Ability to regularly lift and carry more than 25 pounds.Ability to operate or become qualified to operate warehouse equipment used to lift and move materials, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.Valid Oregon Driver License with an acceptable driving record for company-related pickups and deliveries.Proficiency in computer data entry and 10-key.Previous shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience is preferred.Benefits:401(k) with up to 3% company matchHealth, Dental, and Vision InsuranceLife insuranceShort Term Disability InsurancePaid time offSick timeSchedule:Monday- Friday 7:00am-3:30pmOT is required, as needed.
