Title: Outbound Shipping Coordinator and Scheduler


Location: Spring Hope, NC


Reports To: Warehouse Manager


FLSA status: Hourly/Non-exempt


Work Schedule: Monday - Friday Days

What is the overall objective/purpose of this position?

To complete the processes to ship finished goods orders out of the facility. Performs the manual and clerical duties related to shipping including shipping scheduling, documentation and paperwork preparation, inventory coordination and limited customer service related to outbound materials.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


**This position requires verifiable experience as an outbound shipping clerk processing orders using a computer and an inventory shipping/receiving systems**


ยท Verifies and keeps records on outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment

ยท Schedules and coordinates outgoing shipment pickups by various carriers, including UPS, XPO, and other common freight carrier companies

ยท Compares identifying information and counts, weighs or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, order, or other records

ยท Completes shipping information in computer system, prints item shipping labels and affixes to appropriate items

ยท Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipment meets specifications

ยท Follow all clean up and housekeeping procedures

ยท Comply with all quality, safety and work rules and regulations

ยท Other duties may be assigned as necessary


Physical Demands:

This position requires the employee to be physically strong as there may be heavy lifting required. The employee will have to spend significant time standing, walking, lifting, bending, etc.


Work Environment:

The employee will spend most of their time in the shipping area and shipping office. This facility is relatively quiet, with most noises generated by forklifts. The warehouse will experience varying temperatures, seasonally, throughout the year. The facility can be hot during the summer months and cold in the winter months. Safety glasses should be worn in this facility.

Requirements:

Basic computer skills with experience using barcode scanners

Basic math skills

Ability to work within structured time limits

Demonstrates great attention to detail


Required Education and Experience:

Previous shipping and/or receiving operations experience in a coordination position

High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience
