THE PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION IS:
Receives, inspects, and stores incoming raw materials; enters transactions into the computer system; moves materials to and from production; and ships product.
This position includes significant duties such as:
  • Unloads incoming cargo trailers/containers while ensuring material is not damaged.
  • Receives incoming materials and enters these items into the ERP system of record to ensure correct accountability and control.
  • Writes receivers and enters information into the ERP system as required.
  • Coordinates supply of all raw materials requisitioned to and from production.
  • Maintains records of raw materials transferred from and delivered to the production departments for inventory control.
  • Counts, verifies, receives, and delivers all UPS, Federal Express, and other special carriers.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy by investigating daily incorrect inventory transactions and actively supports the inventory maintenance program.
  • Performs incoming inspections on received raw materials.
  • Performs cycle count of stored raw materials to ensure proper inventory control.
  • Coordinates, prepares, and ships finished goods for both continental and trans-continental destinations.
  • Coordinates weekly Lean Lane (direct) shipments as required.
  • Maintains recycled material for outgoing shipment to off-site location.
  • Processes UPS, DHL, FedEx, and next day air shipments to ensure prompt delivery of priority material.
  • Maintains organization and control of quarantine cage.
  • Provide training to other Corning employees or contractors on various topics as assigned and maintain all required training as well as any certifications.
  • Observes all safety, environmental and quality system standards.
  • Cross-trains in both Shipping and Receiving; provides coverage as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
  • Exposure to industrial machinery, moving parts, electrical and other energy sources.
  • Works under changing weather conditions (hot/cold) year-round in warehouse environment.
  • Works at heights up to 32 feet above ground level.
  • Frequently lifts and/or moves materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lifts and/or moves material weighing up to 65 pounds.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) required including, but not limited to, lab coats, hair/beard covers, gloves, ear protection, eye protection, safety shoes etc.
  • Exposure to fumes and high frequency noise.

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.

Experience:
  • 6-12 months experience within a manufacturing/warehouse environment, preferably in shipping and receiving functions.
  • Computer and typing skills required ensuring proper input of information on incoming, outgoing, and inspected materials into the computer database.
  • CDL License, preferred.
  • Experience operating a Yard Spotter, preferred.

The range for this position is $21.00 hourly rate - $24.75 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
