Overview
To provide leadership to the Shipping and Receiving Department and ensure the day-to-day execution of all shipping and receiving activities. To ensure consistency of accurate verification and record keeping of incoming and outgoing shipments. To ensure the preparation of and delivery of consistent packaging, material handling and inventory control.
Shift: This is a first shift position with OT as needed.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise the coordination, completeness, accuracy, and condition of all incoming and outgoing products ensuring that all are properly labeled, and necessary paperwork is documented and maintained.
  • Ensure all products are appropriately packaged and labeled.
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Audit daily shipments for quantity and labeling accuracy and perform daily cycle counts according to a schedule.
  • Ensure all Associates are trained to meet the requirements of their jobs.
  • Direct and complete Associate performance reviews.
  • Responsible for safety, on-time delivery, promoting and maintaining excellent quality through the process, Associate and process efficiency, continuous improvement initiatives and timeliness of all products produced.
  • Verify all daily labor times.
  • Optimize labor allocation and assignments; minimize overtime.
  • Fill in for absent Associates on varying shifts, as needed.
  • Ensure the department's compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and recordkeeping.
  • Manage carbon black silo levels.
  • Manage the scrap pallet process, disposal/recycling of cardboard and empty oil totes and drums.
  • Ensure finished goods cycle counts are completed each month.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams as a shipping/receiving representative with the goal of reducing variance.
  • Participate in, promote, and actively use Lean Manufacturing Principals throughout the organization.
  • Initiate appropriate actions for maintaining a safe and clean work environment, conduct monthly safety meetings. and inspections, complete timely work-related accident reports and investigations.
  • Ensure department compliance with all safety and environmental procedures, regulations, and recordkeeping.
  • Responsible for all department scheduling to meet production and shipment schedules.
  • Responsible for participating and engaging in continuous improvement projects across the organization.
  • Travel to other HEXPOL locations may be required.
  • Perform any other project/task as assigned by Management.

Qualifications
  • Associates Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of education
  • Five (5) years' shipping/receiving or warehouse experience in manufacturing environment, preferred.
  • Three (3) years' supervisory experience.
  • Experience with international shipping.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer/systems skills - MS Office (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).
  • Excellent cooperation and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail, high energy, self-motivated and self-reliant.
  • Ability to supervise, coach and develop Associates.
  • Ability to interact well with all personality types in a supervisory role.
  • Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle personal and confidential information.
