About the Role:
As a Receiving Supervisor in our food-based warehouse, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the inbound logistics process. Your primary responsibility is to lead and manage the receiving team, ensuring the efficient and accurate receipt of food products into the warehouse. With a focus on safety, quality, and productivity, you will coordinate receiving operations, facilitate inspections, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain a smooth flow of products through the supply chain.
The Receiving Supervisor will report to the Senior Warehouse Manager. Key responsibilities of this position include overseeing the timely and accurate receipt of inbound shipments. You will coordinate with team members across multiple departments to efficiently unload trailers, inspect products, and document receipts according to established protocols.
Responsibilities:
  • Upholds and enforces safety protocols related to receiving operations. Conducts regular safety training sessions and inspections to maintain a secure working environment.
  • Works closely with inventory, production, and logistics teams to coordinate inbound deliveries. Fosters effective communication to minimize disruptions and maintain a seamless supply chain.
  • Maintains accurate records of received shipments, including quantities, product details, and any discrepancies. Generates reports and documentation as needed for reference and audit purposes.
  • Identifies and mitigates potential risks related to receiving, including shortages, late deliveries, and temperature discrepancies. Partners with Operations Manager to develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges and maintain uninterrupted operations.
  • Leads a team of Receiving Associates to ensure a thorough understanding of processes, safety guidelines, and quality standards. Provides opportunities for professional growth and development for the team.
  • Continuously evaluates and enhances receiving operations processes. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to streamline workflows, reduce errors, and improve overall warehouse efficiency.

  • Previous leadership experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements for operating plants
  • An ability to adapt to changing priorities, delegate, and manage time efficiently
  • Experience training others to new processes or procedural updates
