Job description

Job Title: Lead Shipping and Receiving Lead
Department: Parts & Service / Warehouse
Reports To: Parts Manager or Operations Manager

Position Summary:
The Lead Shipping and Receiving Associate is responsible for overseeing all incoming and outgoing shipments within the dealership's parts department. This role ensures accurate inventory handling, timely deliveries, and efficient warehouse/department operations. The lead will coordinate daily logistics activities, supervise staff, and maintain compliance with company policies and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily shipping and receiving operations
  • Inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage; verify against purchase orders
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of outgoing orders, including packaging and documentation
  • Maintain organized inventory and storage areas within the warehouse/department
  • Lead cycle counts and assist with full inventory audits
  • Train, schedule, and support shipping/receiving team members
  • Resolve discrepancies related to shipments, inventory, or documentation
  • Maintain shipping records, logs, and reports
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company procedures
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional logistics or supply chain training preferred
  • 3–5 years of shipping/receiving or warehouse experience, preferably in an automotive or dealership environment
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift heavy items and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
