Receiving Clerk


Position Summary

The Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, documenting, and accurately processing all incoming materials, supplies, and equipment to support ATI's manufacturing operations. This position ensures materials are received in good condition, accurately entered into the ERP system, properly labeled, and delivered to the appropriate warehouse or production locations. The Receiving Clerk works closely with Purchasing, Warehouse, Inventory Control, and Production to maintain inventory accuracy and ensure uninterrupted production.


Reports To: Warehouse Lead


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


Essential Responsibilities


Receiving Operations

  • Receive incoming shipments from vendors and carriers. 
  • Verify shipments against purchase orders, packing slips, and bills of lading. 
  • Inspect incoming materials for damage, shortages, and quality concerns. 
  • Report discrepancies to Purchasing and Warehouse leadership promptly. 
  • Accurately enter receipts into the ERP system. 
  • Label and identify materials according to company procedures. 
  • Route materials to the appropriate warehouse or production locations. 

Inventory Control

  • Maintain accurate inventory records through timely system transactions. 
  • Assist with cycle counts and physical inventories. 
  • Ensure inventory locations are updated and maintained. 
  • Investigate receiving discrepancies and inventory variances. 

Documentation

  • Maintain receiving logs and documentation. 
  • File packing slips, shipping documents, and receiving records. 
  • Ensure all receiving paperwork is complete and accurate. 
  • Support traceability requirements for ISO and customer quality standards. 

Material Handling

  • Safely unload materials at receiving dock. 
  • Move materials throughout the facility as needed. 
  • Store incoming materials in designated warehouse locations. 
  • Maintain FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices where applicable. 

Safety & Housekeeping

  • Follow all ATI safety policies and OSHA regulations. 
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area. 
  • Report unsafe conditions immediately. 

Team Support

  • Coordinate with Purchasing regarding expected deliveries. 
  • Communicate shortages or damaged materials to appropriate departments. 
  • Assist Warehouse personnel with shipping and inventory activities as workload requires. 
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse. 

Working Hours:

· Normal work schedule is Monday through Thursday from 7am until 5:30pm with lunch and breaks. Some overtime may be required as needed.

Requirements:

 Qualifications


Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required. 

Experience

  • 1-3 years of receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Experience using ERP or inventory management systems preferred. 
  • Forklift experience or certification preferred (or ability to become certified). 

Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy. 
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and ERP systems. 
  • Ability to read purchase orders, packing slips, bills of lading, and shipping documents. 
  • Good organizational and time management skills. 
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Basic math skills. 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach throughout the workday. 
  • Work in a warehouse and manufacturing environment with varying temperatures.
