Senior Functional Specialist/Advisor

Kavaliro is seeking a Senior Functional Specialist/Advisor to provide expert guidance, consultation, and thought leadership across engineering, technology, program management, and security domains. This role supports quality assurance, system design, and policy development for NGA and IC/DoD programs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide senior-level consultation in engineering, policy, program management, and technology.
  • Analyze user needs, system requirements, and security requirements for feasibility.
  • Review and refine programs, improve efficiency, and recommend solutions.
  • Consult with engineering teams to define specifications and resolve technical issues.
  • Evaluate reporting formats, cost, and security restrictions for system design.
  • Estimate costs, schedules, and performance requirements for system development.
  • Prepare reports and project documentation for stakeholders.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, Remote Sensing, GIS, or related field (Master's preferred).
  • 10+ years of senior-level experience providing guidance and consultation in technical or policy fields.
  • Experience with DoD/IC Acquisition Process and PPBES.
  • Knowledge of Remote Sensing, Photogrammetry, or Image Science highly desired.
  • Experience with Agile, MBSE tools, and enterprise software (ERP, CRM, Project Management tools).
  • Previous NGA, NSG/ASG, IC, or DoD program/project work.
Location:
  • Springfield, VA
  • This position is onsite and there is no remote availability
Clearance Requirements:
  • Candidates must have an active TS/SCI and CI Polygraph
  • Applicant MUST hold a permanent U.S. citizenship for this position in accordance with government contract requirements.
