Job description

Location: San Francisco, CA (hybrid)

What is Verse?

The race to AI has become the race to power. Every breakthrough in artificial intelligence depends on one thing: access to electricity. But across the country, aging grid infrastructure and years-long interconnection queues are slowing the deployment of the data centers that will power the next generation of innovation. Solving this challenge isn't just about energy—it's about unlocking the future of AI.
At Verse, we're building the energy intelligence platform for the AI economy. Our software helps the world's largest energy consumers achieve faster, cheaper, and cleaner power by combining real-time control of energy assets with complete visibility into their energy portfolio. Backed by Bessemer Venture Partners, GV, Coatue, and NVIDIA, and built by pioneers in grid-scale batteries, energy markets, and enterprise software, we're redefining how the world's most ambitious organizations access and manage energy.

The Role

We're looking for a highly analytical Senior Business Operations Analyst to support the growth and execution of our Dispatch Intelligence product.

This role sits at the intersection of business operations, customer, product, engineering, and data science and has two core areas of responsibility. First, you will help drive overall program execution for Dispatch Intelligence: bringing structure to complex cross-functional initiatives, improving processes, tracking progress, and ensuring teams stay aligned on priorities and timelines. Second, you will help build and operate the processes through which flexible energy assets are onboarded onto the Verse platform and continuously improve their operational performance.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical problem-solving with exceptional project management and is comfortable working across both technical and commercial teams. You will play a critical role in helping Verse scale Dispatch Intelligence from individual projects and assets into a repeatable, high-performing operating model.

Key Responsibilities

Program Management & Operational Excellence
  • Drive cross-functional execution of key Dispatch Intelligence initiatives across Customer, Product, Engineering, Data Science, Commercial, and Business Operations teams.
  • Create clear visibility into priorities, milestones, dependencies, ownership, and progress across complex workstreams.
  • Establish lightweight operating processes and regular project cadences that help teams stay aligned, surface risks early, and maintain accountability.
  • Identify gaps, bottlenecks, and unclear ownership across projects and proactively work with teams to resolve them.
  • Translate complex project activity into concise updates and decision points for company leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Continuously improve how Dispatch Intelligence projects are planned, tracked, documented, and executed as the product and organization scale.
  • Help bring structure to incoming requests and new initiatives by clarifying requirements, scope, priorities, ownership, and next steps.
Asset Onboarding & Performance Management
  • Build and manage scalable processes for onboarding flexible energy assets onto the Verse platform, coordinating closely with Customer, Product, Engineering, Data Science, and external stakeholders.
  • Create clear visibility into onboarding status, dependencies, blockers, and asset performance across a growing portfolio.
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues that could delay onboarding or limit asset performance.
  • Partner closely with Customer, Data Science, Product, and Engineering to analyze performance, identify root causes of underperformance, and drive improvements.
  • Establish metrics, reporting, and operating cadences that create transparency into portfolio performance and help teams prioritize interventions.
  • Identify recurring patterns across assets and translate them into scalable improvements to product capabilities, algorithms, configurations, and operating processes.

What We're Looking For (Minimum Qualifications)

  • 3+ years of experience in a top-tier consulting firm or in a similarly rigorous, analytical, and stakeholder-facing role with a strong track record of problem solving and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects end-to-end, driving execution across teams and delivering results on time.
  • Customer-first mindset with the ability to listen, empathize, and translate feedback into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong communication skills – able to engage technical and non-technical audiences with equal fluency.
  • Data-savvy and detail-oriented, comfortable working with analytics teams and distilling insights from data.
  • Collaborative and proactive, excited to work across functions in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with customer, product, data science and engineering teams.
  • Experience working in the renewable energy space.
What Will Make You Standout (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Proficiency with AI tools

What makes Verse a great place to work?

  • We lead with empathy. Empathy for our teammates and our customers is central to who we are. We lift each other up and strive to embody humility, selflessness, and kindness. We promote an emotionally aware attitude and culture by putting our colleagues and customers first. We respect the prior art and acknowledge those who have come before us. We never assume we know everything: every person has something to teach us.
  • We are open, honest, and transparent. Organizational and institutional trust is essential to tackling the world's most challenging problems. That trust is built on effective communication with our team, our customers, and other stakeholders. We are always receptive to feedback on how we could do better, and we strive to provide constructive recommendations that help others excel.
  • We move with balance and precision. Life is a delicate balance between the forces of creation, maintenance, and destruction. We understand that each of these forces must be applied with diligence: When we act, we act carefully and responsibly. Speed, hard work, and perseverance must be accompanied by thoughtfulness and reflection.
  • We are pursuing a labor of love. We are passionate about renewable energy technology, and we like to dream big. We are disrupting the largest and most expensive machine humanity has ever built – the electricity system. We believe the greatest impact we can have on the climate crisis is through building elegant solutions and exceptional products that delight our customers.
