Job Summary/Basic Function
This position assists our information security operations team. This experience in the Office of Information Technology is complementary and/or supplementary to cybersecurity security curriculum offered by the College of Technology, Computer Science, or CyberCriminology.
Specific Responsibilities
Work Schedule
Flexible per class schedule by semester, but permanent once established. Work will be scheduled on Monday - Friday between 8:00AM - 4:30PM.

Job Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The role and responsibilities include the assessment of campus networks and systems for known vulnerabilities, and workstation security event detection and response. These activities provide the opportunity to attain the knowledge, skills, and abilities to use Nessus, Cisco, and Microsoft security tools and software. As the GA's gain experience, they will be given more opportunities to assist with hands-on assistance with workstation and server security baseline configurations, including testing and deployment of new technologies. Our current student assistants aid with this work presently, but a GA will have an improved foundation of information technology academic work that will be an asset to on-the-job productivity.
