Job description

Job Title: Clean-Up Grounds/Security Superintendent

Location: Omaha, NE JBS Beef Plant

Reporting to: General Manager

 

Essential Job Functions:

 

  • Ensure all company objectives and standards are being maintained regarding infectious diseases.
  • Oversee and manage daily groundskeeping and security activities, including cleaning, disinfection, and waste management, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Oversee the maintenance of the plant grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, seasonal upkeep, and overall cleanliness.
  • Ensure adherence to environmental and safety standards for outdoor spaces.
  • Inspect grounds regularly to find hazards or maintenance issues.
  • Manage and maintain ground equipment such as mowers, tractors, trimmers, powered industrial trucks, and company vehicles. Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Develop and oversee budgets for ground maintenance, supplies, and labor.
  • Keep precise records of equipment maintenance, chemicals, and inventory.
  • Oversee the Security Department, which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Complete daily and weekly reports as necessary.
  • Address employee conflicts and issues quickly and fairly.
  • Communicate directly with company staff and external service providers.
  • Attend all scheduled meetings.
  • Oversee/assist in bulk deliveries and storage.
  • Report to the General Manager and the Operations Manager.
  • Travel locally using the company vehicle to complete assigned tasks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience Required:

 

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred but not required.
  • 3-5 years of safety or engineering experience preferred but not required.
  • A four-year degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or an engineering-related field is preferred but not required.

 

 

Skills/Abilities Required

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative work relationships.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and maintain an acceptable driving record to operate a company vehicle.
  • Ability to work at different temperatures and long hours, including some weekends.
  • Physically capable of moving throughout indoor and outdoor areas of the facility, navigating uneven and slippery surfaces, and tight spaces.
  • Bilingual skills preferred but not required.
