About the Role

At Houzz, we're transforming the way home building, remodeling, and design professionals run and grow their businesses. We're looking for a motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to introduce prospective customers to Houzz Pro, our industry-leading business management platform. Through strategic outbound outreach, you'll engage business owners, identify qualified opportunities, and help build a strong sales pipeline for our Account Executives.

This role is ideal for someone who is competitive, resilient, and energized by connecting with people. What You'll Do
  • Build new business opportunities by connecting with home professionals through outbound phone, email, SMS, and social outreach.
  • Spark meaningful conversations, uncover business needs, and qualify opportunities for our Account Executives.
  • Own your pipeline by identifying target accounts, engaging decision-makers, and consistently generating high-quality meetings.
  • Partner with Account Executives to develop account strategies and maximize conversion from first touch to closed deal.
  • Personalize every interaction to deliver a thoughtful, consultative experience that builds trust and creates value.
  • Stay organized by keeping Salesforce up to date with accurate prospect activity and insights.
  • Exceed goals for pipeline generation, qualified meetings, and outbound performance while thriving in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
  • Continuously sharpen your sales skills through coaching, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
At a Minimum, We'd Like You to Have
  • 1–2 years of experience in business development, sales, or a customer-facing role, preferably in a fast-paced SaaS environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the confidence to engage business owners and decision-makers.
  • A competitive mindset with strong resilience, coachability, and a desire to continuously learn and improve.
  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM, with strong attention to detail and disciplined CRM management.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively in a high-volume environment.
  • The ability to navigate objections, think critically, and adapt your approach to different customer needs.
  • A track record of working toward performance goals in a metrics-driven environment.
Ideally, You'll Also Have
  • 1–2 years of success in a Business Development Representative (BDR), Sales Development Representative (SDR), or similar outbound prospecting role, preferably in SaaS.
  • Experience conducting discovery conversations, qualifying opportunities, and generating high-quality pipeline for Account Executives.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce (or a similar CRM) and modern sales engagement tools to manage outreach, prospecting, and pipeline.
  • Strong understanding of account-based prospecting, personalized outreach, and multi-channel engagement strategies.
  • Proven ability to consistently exceed goals for meetings booked, pipeline generated, or other sales development metrics.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to improve prospecting strategies and drive business growth.
Compensation, Benefits and Perks

This role offers an hourly base pay rate plus variable pay based on business metrics and individual performance. The base pay rate is $24.05 per hour. The variable annual target is $21,000. The estimated on-target earning (OTE) is $71,000 annually based on hours worked and overall performance against metrics.
