The primary responsibility of this full-time Retail Store Manager is managing and operating a retail store in all of its aspects, including personnel issues.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for all aspects of management and operations, including acquisition, display, and sale of merchandise including rotation of goods, pricing, adequate inventory, etc.
Perform administrative and clerical duties of store operations. Provide sales reports and accurate retail information on a timely basis.
Oversee all personnel, clients, and volunteers assigned to the retail store.
Direct training, and conduct performance evaluations.
Responsible for recruitment, interviews, and hiring of store retail staff following legal and agency guidelines.
Handle personnel issues, provide proper documentation, and assist in terminations when required.
Enforce store procedures and GIWM policies on a day-to-day basis.
Responsible for ensuring grounds and buildings are properly maintained. Report the need for repairs and recommend replacement as necessary.
Responsible for enhancing security and loss prevention.
Ensure safety compliance for all OSHA/MIOSHA requirements, and GIWM safety regulations are adhered to.
Perform job functions of a Lead Cashier and retail Associate, as required.
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of three (3) years of experience in retail operations is required. Supervisory experience is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Medium work, occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds of force and/or up to 25 pounds of lifting, frequent lifting up to 10 pounds, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, climbing, reaching, handling, hearing, talking, seeing, and repetitive movement.
WORK CONDITIONS
Inside generally 100%, however, may include outside work on occasion.
Moderate emotional effort. The work environment is occasionally hectic with occasional high stress. Short deadlines require some overtime. Weekends and holidays are required.
Available and on-call for emergency situations at stores.
Use of personal vehicle to conduct agency business, as needed.
Some travel is required for off-site meetings and coverage at other stores.
CORE COMPETENCIES
Maintain good public relations and positively promote the agency and retail store image.
Proficient in the use of computers and Microsoft Office suite.
Maintain accurate records and reports pertinent to retail store operation.
Demonstrate accuracy with accounting and bookkeeping.
Handle customer complaints in a courteous and responsible manner.
Must be able to provide positive internal and external customer relations and to easily interact and work with individuals referred for training.
Kaizen principles: Follow the 5S Checklist, procedures, signage, and layout.
Maintain a good driving record, valid insurance, valid driver's license.
Maintain a valid powered industrial truck license, when required.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Works under the direct supervision of the Retail District Manager.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED
Supervises all staff, clients, and volunteers assigned to the retail store.
