Earth Fare Team Leaders

At Earth Fare Our Team Leaders are managers who are responsible for modeling Earth Fares Mission, Conviction and Purpose, while developing and managing a successful team within their department. Team Leader responsibilities include adhering to the departments standard operating procedures; meeting and exceeding financial goals including gross profit, shrink, sales, labor and department over-head. Team Leaders are responsible for ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Assistant Grocery Department Team Leader

The Assistant Grocery Team Lead supports the Grocery Team Leader in overseeing the daily operations of the grocery department. This role plays a key part in ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining department standards, and supporting team development. The Assistant Grocery Team Lead works closely with grocery clerks and leadership to ensure inventory accuracy, product presentation, cleanliness, and operational efficiency while modeling Earth Fare’s values and food philosophy.

This position is a hands-on leadership role and serves as a developmental step toward full department leadership.

Contributions

  • Communicate Earth Fare vision, standard operating procedures, merchandising guidelines, and financial goals

  • Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of fixtures, storage areas, workstations, freezers, and coolers

Required Knowledge and Experience

  • Knowledge of produce and natural foods industry trends

  • Knowledge of common allergies and specialized dietary terms such as gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian

  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation, and proper storage and display of organic products

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel and Outlook

  • Ability to learn and use handheld computer scanners

  • Proven experience managing shrink, sales, gross profit, and department overhead

  • Minimum of two to three years experience with produce and natural or organic products

  • Perishable experience and OSHA or ServSafe certification preferred

Environmental Conditions and Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally

  • Frequent reaching above shoulder level and below waist level

  • Ability to stand for extended periods

  • Ability to push and pull carts or pallet jacks with moderate loads
