Reporting Analyst

Job Description

The Reporting Analyst supports regulatory reporting, statistical data submissions, rating maintenance, and data management activities for insurance-related products. This role ensures that critical reporting is completed accurately, completely, and on time across multiple jurisdictions while supporting regulatory compliance. The analyst works closely with Finance, Actuarial, Product, Legal, IT, and Reporting teams to manage reporting requirements, maintain rating structures, and identify opportunities for process improvement and automation. The position is ideal for a highly analytical, organized, and technically savvy professional with strong data validation and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, validate, and submit required statistical reports to regulatory agencies and industry reporting organizations.
  • Manage quarterly, annual, and ad hoc data submissions, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.
  • Coordinate with business partners and technical teams to gather, extract, validate, and reconcile data from multiple systems.
  • Maintain supporting documentation, audit trails, and reporting records to meet compliance and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor regulatory and reporting updates and assist in implementing required changes to reporting processes and data structures.
  • Extract and analyze data from various systems, databases, and reporting tools to support internal and external reporting needs.
  • Perform data reconciliation and quality assurance reviews to ensure completeness, accuracy, and consistency of reported data.
  • Investigate discrepancies, resolve data issues, and recommend corrective actions to improve data quality and integrity.
  • Support internal reporting requirements while maintaining a high level of data integrity and control.
  • Assist with the implementation and maintenance of rating tables, setup tables, and rating algorithms for insurance products.
  • Support the development and documentation of rate and rule changes, including preparation of supporting materials.
  • Collaborate with Product and Pricing teams to prepare exhibits, filing support materials, and documentation for regulatory filings.
  • Maintain appropriate controls, approvals, and audit documentation for system updates and rating changes.
  • Assist with regulatory examinations, audits, and information requests from state agencies and other governing organizations.
  • Work closely with Legal, Finance, and business stakeholders to compile and provide requested documentation for audits and examinations.
  • Support policy assessment, surcharge reporting, and related compliance activities.
  • Organize and maintain records necessary for audit readiness and ongoing compliance.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes and improve efficiency through automation and enhanced reporting solutions.
  • Assist in improving data workflows and reporting capabilities across the organization.
  • Recommend enhancements that reduce manual effort, strengthen controls, and improve reporting accuracy.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years of experience in data reporting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, analytics, insurance operations, accounting, finance, actuarial support, or a similar analytical role.
  • Hands-on experience extracting, validating, reconciling, and analyzing data from multiple systems and data sources.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and data analysis functions.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and ensure data accuracy and completeness.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage multiple reporting deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to ask questions and seek clarification to gain a full understanding of requirements.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high quality standards.
  • Experience with reporting and data-related activities in accounting, finance, or actuarial support environments.
  • Comfort working with large data sets and complex reporting requirements.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Actuarial, Product, Legal, IT, and Reporting.

Work Environment

This role follows a Mondayโ€“Friday schedule with flexible hours, typically ranging from approximately 7:00 a.m.โ€“3:30 p.m. to 8:30 a.m.โ€“5:00 p.m. The position is based in a hybrid work environment that includes roughly 60% onsite presence, offering a balance between in-office collaboration and remote work. The work setting is highly collaborative, with regular interaction among Finance, Tax, Reporting, Actuarial, Product, Legal, and IT stakeholders. The environment supports the use of modern technologies, including Microsoft Excel, data warehouse reporting tools, enterprise business systems, and data extraction and reporting platforms. There is a strong emphasis on professional development, with opportunities for long-term growth and potential conversion to a permanent position.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Neenah, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
