Job Title: SharePoint Online Migration Specialist / Techno-Functional SME Job ID: 26-03643 Location: Concord, NH 03301 Duration: 06 months OF W2 contract
Description
This position will work directly with agency management, business users and contractors to migrate data and information from the Department of Education's Canvas site and their shared drive to SharePoint Online, reporting to the Department of IT.
IMPORTANT NOTES - READ FULLY:

  • HYBRID Schedule - ONSITE Requirements: Submitted candidates should be local and willing to be onsite 2-3 days (2-days minimum) per week to facilitate face-to-face meetings with leadership and division directors. Fully Remote will ONLY be considered if a candidate possesses highly specific experience with Canvas to SharePoint migrations.
  • If you do not note your candidate's location where requested in the Questions section, or it's determined at any point in screening that the location you've provided is untrue, your candidate will be removed from consideration.
  • Position will have a 37.5 hour work week, NOT a 40-hour work week, and candidates must be able to work alternative schedules (i.e. non-business hours for planned maintenance, upgrades, urgent troubleshooting, and/or migration activities that can't be done during normal business hours).
  • Exceptional communication skills are required.

JOB DESCRIPTION
This position will be a critical piece of an overall modernization effort by the Department of Education. A significant portion of DOE's data is stored in shared drives and in off-campus SaaS applications; bringing that data into the State's Microsoft tenancy has been made a top priority by agency leadership. This position will work directly with agency management, business users and contractors to migrate data and information from the Department of Education's Canvas site and their shared drive to SharePoint Online, reporting to the Department of IT.

  • Demonstrates specialized knowledge of current M365 tools, including Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint Online, Forms, and Power Platform concepts.
  • Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online at an expert level, particularly with migrations.
  • Provides oversight and development assistance to agency partners and/or project members to implement basic, advanced, or extended internal SharePoint Online functionality (while adhering to established compliance and governance standards/policies) with forms, webparts, and related application/cloud technologies.
  • Works directly with agency leads to assist with Modern Workplace adoption and improved user experience by promoting new ways of working and assisting with change initiatives and leads and/or participates in staff development by educating end-users and technical support staff on SharePoint capabilities and development standards; coordinates enterprise-wide training with Microsoft as needed.
  • Supports continuous improvement of operational, compliance, and governance standards. Contributes to the development and documentation of procedures, projects and future operations, and participates in SharePoint-related agency projects as a subject matter expert and/or as needed.
  • Works with agency partners to support identification and documentation of business problems, needs, and requirements. Documents detailed specifications and standards for SharePoint solutions to meet State agencies' business initiatives/problems.
  • Provides guidance to new and enhanced SharePoint proposed solutions to support conducting user needs assessments, maintaining compliance with existing standards and assisting agencies with guidance on needed operational resources to develop, document and operate solutions.
  • Provides support in user/technical community with development planning and the change request process. Responds to special needs/problem situations as required on a priority basis.
